How We Work Together
We typically offer short-term counselling in blocks of 6 and 12 sessions as well as open-ended psychotherapy. However, we will tailor our approach and sessions to your requirements.
When we meet, it is about you and your needs. I will offer an honest, gentle and direct approach whilst we create a confidential therapeutic environment together where you will feel free to be utterly yourself.
My style is adaptive, combining active listening, exploration, unconditional positive regard , empathy with appropriate gentle challenges when you are ready.
In our first session we will assess your needs, understand your background and explore how we can work together.
We will have a working agreement. This will depend on your circumstances and what you need from me. It will include how we interact, the length of sessions, where, when we meet, how we deal with emergencies amongst many other matters, some specific to you.
